Job description

You'll join our core team of two highly experienced quants who are also full-stack developers with deep data and cloud expertise - the bar is high, but the learning curve and impact are massive. It's absolutely fine if you're not yet an expert in every area - you'll grow into it quickly working alongside us. We'll mentor and support you closely throughout the process.

Our system goes live next week, and you'll play a key role in evolving it from a powerful launch version into a world-class trading engine.

    • Design and implement scalable, modular, and testable trading and backend components (e.g., bot signals for technical indicators, orderflow, price action, ML-based algorithms) in Rust
  • Improve and extend our strategy optimization framework in Rust
  • Develop and maintain TB-scale Dagster/DBT ETL pipelines in Python
  • Optimize data ingestion, storage, and queries for TimescaleDB/PostgreSQL
  • Maintain and enhance our K3s cluster on Hetzner Cloud (autoscaling, reliability, observability) using Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize
  • Build and extend Grafana dashboards and alerting systems for market data, bot observability, and system health
  • Collaborate closely with our bot operators to detect, analyze, and fix issues in live trading

Requirements

Strong experience in Rust (most important skill!)

  • Proven background in Python-based data engineering and scalable data architectures
  • Basic Kubernetes skills
  • Proficiency with the Grafana Stack (dashboards, monitoring, alerting, capacity planning)
  • Genuine passion for financial markets and algorithmic trading
  • Strong academic background and/or impressive track record
  • Confidence and ambition to compete at a global level with the brightest minds
  • Highly collaborative, low-ego mindset - typically more introverted but deeply focused and reliable
  • IT and coding aren't just your job - they're your biggest passion

Nice to Have:

  • Strong math and ML skills (big plus for improving our optimization engine)
  • Solid experience with autoscaling Kubernetes (K3s), Terraform, and Helm/Kustomize on Hetzner Cloud
  • Experience with TimescaleDB/TigerData
  • Familiarity with financial data, especially Databento API (CME futures)
  • C# skills (Quantower or NinjaTrader integration)
  • Knowledge of AI/agent systems (e.g., n8n, LLMs, Reinforcement Learning)
    • Work on a cutting-edge, high-performance trading platform - probably the most exciting playground you've seen as a tech/quant enthusiast
  • Collaborate with a small, elite, international quant team

Benefits & conditions

Risk-free, paid probation period (part-time) - ideal to test long-term fit while keeping your current job (10-20h/week over 6 months)

  • Remote-first culture
  • Possibility of a long-term collaboration if the work results meet expectations
  • Learn faster and deeper than anywhere else - directly from highly experienced quants and developers

️ --- Process ---

  • Short interview (~1.5h) - no LeetCode nonsense, no live coding. Just a real, deep-level tech talk between quant/tech nerds
  • 6-month paid trial (part-time beside your current job) to ensure a strong mutual fit for both sides
  • Offer for a long-term collaboration with a very competitive compensation package (Base + Profit-Share + VSOPs) Data architect
