Job description

The Team Lead IT Governance Management plays a key role in developing and driving BioNTech's global IT governance framework, including the GRC process landscape and IT QMS. This position involves integrating IT governance processes into tools like ServiceNow and Veeva, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, strategic planning, and operational oversight. This function collaborates with IT, QA, and business units to enhance accountability and continuous improvement, employing methodologies such as COBIT and ITIL, and utilizes OKR to measure success. Your responsibilities are:

  • Define and refine our IT GRC standards and processes to ensure alignment with global goals and best practices.
  • Own IT quality and control processes
  • Direct the assigned IT governance team, aligning goals with OKR and IT best practices
  • Mentor the team for growth and accountability
  • Lead the IT governance program, including GRC standards and IT quality processes
  • Collaborate with IT GRC teams for unified strategies in risk management, compliance, and governance
  • Develop training and awareness programs for IT governance adoption
  • Establish KPIs for insights into IT governance status and effectiveness

Requirements

  • A university degree in information technology, economics, or a related field is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT within regulated industries, such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare, is essential
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and driving large-scale IT governance programs
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of IT governance frameworks, including COBIT, ITIL, and ISO 37000, with the ability to tailor these frameworks to organizational needs
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing IT GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) processes and Quality Management Systems (QMS), along with hands-on expertise in relevant tools (e.g., ServiceNow GRC, Veeva QMS)
  • Strong ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders, foster collaboration across departments, and build alignment with organizational goals
  • Advanced project management capabilities, coupled with strong analytical skills to assess, optimize, and drive continuous improvement in IT governance processes
  • Fluency in English both oral and written is required, German is beneficial
