Job description
In this role, you will have a comprehensive understanding of how Allianz Re's business processes and applications function, and you manage changes related to our data landscape. You are technical expert for data management, (advanced) analytics and reporting solutions. Your main focus will be on the creation of a future ready data environment to allow fully integrated and automated cat and not cat portfolio modelling and related analytics.
As part of Allianz Re's 'Data Office', your mission will be to facilitate insights and informed business decisions based on reliable data. You will play an active role in realizing the global data strategy of Allianz Re and the wider Allianz organization. This role offers a highly interesting, engaging, and varied cross-functional and international work environment, allowing you to utilize your data and advanced analytics capabilities to explore diverse aspects of (re-)insurance.
How can you make an impact
You will:
- Conceptually model end to end data flows for cat and not cat portfolio models
- Understand in depth how premium risk is calculated and how the related portfolio models function
- Conceptually design data pipelines and data (consumption) models incl. reports, dashboards, and (advanced) analytics
- Harmonize input and output data including key concepts and reference values
- Integrate a data quality framework
- Act as an expert consultant for diverse stakeholders from AZ Re Business and Data Office
- Specify change requirements and oversee implementation, coordinate testing, productive rollout, and provide training
- Collaborate with and guide onshore and offshore development teams
- Identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and process automation

Requirements
- University degree or similar tertiary education, ideally in computer science, statistics/data science, (financial) mathematics or a related subject
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience
- Excellent understanding of finance-related concepts, actuarial knowledge for PC insurance
- Strong conceptual and analytical capabilities
- Extensive technical expertise in data, databases, data (vault) modelling, dashboard creation, (advanced) analytics, and application design principles
- Strong technical foundation with e.g. Azure Synapse, Azure AI Foundry, MS Fabric, Databricks
- Significant expertise in portfolio modelling
- Knowledge of insurance and associated processes at Allianz, including systems, and applications
- Experience in writing specifications
- Experience in leading transformation projects
- Positive, can-do attitude, service-oriented, analytical, and pragmatic
- Project experience
- Effective communicator capable of explaining complex concepts, models, and results
- Strong ability to collaborate across functions, organizations, and cultures
- Excellent command of English and willingness to work in an international team
- Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
- Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
