Job description
As our senior cloud engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, developing, and operating this cloud environment, with a strong focus on operational excellence. You'll design and implement robust infrastructure using modern technologies such as Python, S3, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Terramate, Ansible, Zarr, ArgoCD, Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs, STAC, PostGIS, and more., + Collaborate closely with fellow cloud engineers, as well as stakeholders from software, product, and image segment teams, ensuring infrastructure meets their needs.
- Design and implement key components of our Cloud-Native Geospatial Data Platform, enabling efficient data acquisition, distribution, and analysis, while also supporting the Mission Operations team in safely controlling our satellites.
- Build, maintain, and evolve a state-of-the-art cloud environment that empowers all engineering teams with the best tools, workflows, and methodologies-taking ownership of improvements aligned with company objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and standards to keep our platform modern and effective. Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping them grow their technical expertise and reach their full potential.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Required:
- A motivated, curious, and inquisitive team player with a can-do attitude, unafraid to challenge the status quo and eager to turn ideas into action. While the team enjoys great autonomy, you work collaboratively to find the best solutions that ensure scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
- An engineer who embraces DevSecOps principles, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, TDD, and any tools that help deliver better products with less effort. You aim to be a force multiplier, maximizing impact across the organization.
- Relevant professional experience aligned with the tasks described above, including a proven track record in building cloud environments in fast-paced and largely remote settings.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Solid experience with AWS, particularly S3, EKS, EC2, and IAM.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to Have:
- Have worked in the EO sector and/or NewSpace startups
- Have sysadmin, DevOps, and/or networking experience
- Have some experience in Cloud and Enterprise Security topics
- Have any other experiences that you believe would bring extra value to the team
