Job description
We offer as February 1st, 2026, a full-time position, limited for 26 months, subject to final confirmation by the funding organization, with the possibility of a 6-month extension, based at our location in Müncheberg as Postdoc (f/m/d).
Working field:
- integrate CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service) emission data with crop modelling for Mediterranean agriculture
- assess climate-smart fertilization and multi-stress adaptation strategies
- evaluate feasibility and define integration pathways for C3S (Copernicus Climate Change Service) applications
- support the C3S Agriculture Micro-site and Mediterranean Demonstrator with agronomic insights and data
Requirements
- PhD in crop science, computational environmental science, or a closely related field with a focus on agricultural systems
- solid knowledge of crop modelling and/or data-driven approaches for agricultural decision support
- robust experience with Python
- proven experience in managing and analysing large climate or environmental datasets
- excellent written and spoken English skills required, + Agricultural science
- Computer science
Level of education: PhD in crop science, computational environmental science, or a closely related field with a focus on agricultural systems
Working language and expected level:
- English (Business fluent)

About the company
The mission of the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) as a nationally and internationally active research institute is to deliver solutions for an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable agriculture - together with society. ZALF is a member of the Leibniz Association and is located in Müncheberg (approx. 35 minutes by regional train from Berlin-Lichtenberg).
