Engineer Embedded Systems

Reporting to the Manager Laser HW/SW Platform, the Engineer Embedded Systems (m/f/d) responsible for the development of hardware-related embedded software for industrial laser systems and real-time programming for time-critical control and regulation processes. This position will be on-site, located in Lübeck.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

• Logic development for complex control sequences and signal processing
• Design and implementation of System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures
• Use of the Xilinx toolchain for development and simulation of FPGA-based systems
• Definition and implementation of interfaces to sensors, actuators, and control units
• Design, simulation, and configuration of control engineering systems
• Commissioning of electronic prototypes
• Measurement validation using oscilloscopes and other tools
• Selection of suitable sensors and their software integration
• Documentation in Jira and Confluence and use of agile methods (Scrum, CI/CD)

Do you have experience in Software development?, * Completed studies in electrical engineering, computer science, or comparable qualification

• Several years of experience in embedded software development with a focus on real-time and hardware-related systems
• In-depth knowledge of C/C++, SoC design, logic development, and FPGA programming
• Experience with the Xilinx toolchain (Vivado, Vitis, etc.)
• Knowledge of tools such as Altium Designer, Git, Jira, Confluence
• Strong initiative, curiosity, and a high degree of self-organization
• Teamwork and communication skills in an interdisciplinary environment
• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
