Job description

As a Mechanical Engineer - Analytics & Testing (m/f/d), you will play a key role in advancing our understanding of polymer materials and adhesive systems. Your focus will be on developing innovative testing methods, building predictive models, and integrating data-driven approaches that shape the future of our virtual product development. Working in close collaboration with material scientists, product developers, and data engineers, you will bridge the gap between experimental validation and simulation - ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. This role offers a unique combination of hands-on laboratory work, simulation, and data analysis, with opportunities to shape the direction of testing technology and contribute directly to our innovation pipeline.

Your tasks include:

  • Development and validation of models describing the viscoelastic behavior of polymers
  • Development and establishment of new testing devices and methods
  • Investigation of mechanical properties of polymers to optimize performance
  • Management of machine learning projects related to material modeling and performance prediction
  • Creation of an evaluation IT structure to deliver key parameters for "Virtual Product Development"
  • Collaboration with product developers to enhance testing procedures and improve product design
  • Execution of FEM simulations to predict the behavior of adhesive tapes and polymer components during application tests
  • Planning and evaluation of mechanical tests to validate simulation results

Requirements

Do you have experience in Python?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's or higher), graduated with top marks

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience conducting mechanical testing procedures, with a focus on rheology
  • Proven experience in developing new testing devices and evaluation methods
  • In-depth knowledge of polymer mechanics and relevant testing parameters
  • Strong programming skills (Python, MATLAB)
  • High level of initiative, curiosity, and self-motivation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A distinct hands-on mentality with an analytical mindset
