Job description

For our R&D Innovation Synergies department within Sartorius Stedim Cellca GmbH, we are looking for a working student (x|f|m). The position is based in Ulm, Germany. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with lab scientists and data experts, gaining insights into cutting-edge data engineering practices. You will be instrumental in shaping the data infrastructure that supports innovative research and development, while expanding your skills in data analysis, cloud technologies, and machine learning.

Grow with us - Your Responsibilities

  • Support data collection from lab devices and other lab-related sources, ensuring seamless integration into our data analytics platform
  • Help build and maintain robust data pipelines, collaborate with team members to design and maintain data models for analysis and reporting
  • Engage with lab scientists to better understand lab data, facilitating effective pipeline creation and optimization
  • Support the Data Science and Innovation team with data preprocessing and preparation, enhancing the quality and usability of data for various projects
  • Create comprehensive documentation of pipelines, ensuring data traceability and adherence to best practices
  • Work on creating machine learning pipelines for various ATS applications, researching and implementing the right methodologies for different applications

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Currently enrolled in a master's degree program in computational biology, computer science, data science, information systems or a related field

  • Basic understanding of SQL and database concepts
  • Interest in cloud data platforms and data engineering
  • Working knowledge of Python is required. Familiarity in libraries such as Pandas and scikit-learn is a plus
  • willingness to learn new data analytical technologies
  • Very good communication skills in English (German is an advantage)
  • Ability to work self-driven and with a high level of self-motivation
