Job description

Build and scale the metrics engine that helps Mercedes-Benz answer, continuously and withevidence:Are we doing the right things? Are we doing things right? Are we doing them sustainably?You'll be the fronted for the BI Analytics Team and partner with stakeholders and delivery teamsto define valuable metrics, turn them into actionable insights, and drive adoption across theorganization

Sneak preview of your future tasks

  • Co-create valuable metrics with stakeholders for software products and services: align onproblem statements, decision use-cases, and acceptance criteria for each KPI/metric.
  • Prioritize for insight, not requests: transform reporting tasks into productive analytics that reveal cause/effect, trade-offs, and next best actions.
  • Solution with the Team (not a ticket-manager): run discovery, whiteboard data flows, define semantic layers/data contracts, and agree on slices that deliver measurable learning fast.
  • Evangelize & implement: communicate metrics and definitions across stakeholders, teams,and business units; create playbooks, office hours, enablement sessions, and dashboards that people actually use.
  • Steward delivery & quality metrics for SW: e.g., DORA, Agile metrics, lead/cycle time, WIP, predictability, MTTR, change failure rate, defect escape rate, test health, reliability, etc.
  • Connect to product & business outcomes: Business Product metrics, including adoption,activation, retention, customer value, cost-to-serve, time-to-value. Show how delivery health links to product impact. AI capabilities: introduce and bridge the Analytics and AI worlds by piloting LLM-assisted insights (NL
  • SQL, narrative summaries), anomaly detection/forecasting and embedding governed AI features into everyday metrics workflows (grounded to trusted data, PII-safe).
  • Drive sustainability signals: team load, on-call burden, tech-debt ratio, rework, contextswitching.
  • Make risks visible and propose interventions.
  • Influence OKRs and DPM: facilitate goal-setting, define metric ownership and guardrails, and maintain the KPI catalog (DPM = Daily Performance Management for multiple company levels).
  • Ensure quality & trust: establish metric definitions, lineage, SLAs/SLOs for freshness and accuracy; partner with data/engineering on observability and incident comms.
  • Measure impact: adoption of metrics products, decisions influenced, time-to-insightreduced, manual reporting retired, outcome deltas vs. baselines.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Time management?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Significant PO/PM experience in BI/analytics for software delivery and productorganizations.

  • Strong grasp of delivery & quality metrics and how they drive behavior (DORA, flow metrics,reliability, defects/quality gates), plus business/product metrics and KPI trees.
  • Hands-on literacy with SQL/semantic modeling and BI tools (e.g., Power BI/Tableau).
  • Proven ability to turn ambiguous stakeholder requests into decision-ready insights and tofacilitate workshops (metrics discovery, OKR setting, root-cause analysis).
  • Clear, persuasive storytelling to senior and non-technical audiences; thrives on crossfunctional alignment and change enablement. Familiarity with applying AI/advanced analytics responsibly (forecasting, anomaly detection,NL
  • insight) to augment decision-making.

  • Experience with modern data stacks and data quality tooling.
  • Background in large software delivery companies (not only in manufacturing).
  • Experience leading Teams to deliver products and services with an Agile mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, ambiguous work environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Working in a structured manned with multiple demanding stakeholders in a complex automotive environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal initiative, commitment, perseverance and resilience.
  • Proficiency in problem solving and troubleshooting issues.
  • Ability to deal with conflicts.
  • Education Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a comparable degree.
  • Language skills: Proficient in English, German is a plus but not an must.
