Job description
We're looking for a Lead/Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the infrastructure strategy and automation behind our Enterprise VPN and Zero Trust networking platform. This role is essential to ensuring product services and customer-deployed gateways are secure, scalable, and always-on.
You'll own our infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, system observability, and secure deployment practices across public-hosted and customer-deployed environments.
As a key member of the founding team, you'll shape our technical strategy, engineering practices, and system resilience. Your decisions will influence both product direction and company growth., * Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker;
- Operate and optimize Linux-based environments running gateways and services
- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) for backend and desktop applications
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and security hardening of VPN infrastructure
- Manage secrets, TLS certificates, firewall rules, and secure service configurations
- Define and enforce observability practices (dashboards, alerts, metrics, disaster recovery)
- Contribute to incident response and live site operations, including root cause analysis and remediation
- Support internal dev environments, onboarding flows, and infrastructure for developer productivity
- Collaborate with engineers to integrate DevSecOps principles into build and deployment workflows
Requirements
Do you have experience in VPN?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
- Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration
- Strong experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud providers (AWS required; GCP or Azure a plus)
- Experience deploying and managing high-availability, distributed, and multi-tenant systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD best practices, Git-based workflows, and build/release automation
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, routing, firewalls, DNS, TLS, etc)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.)
- Understanding of the full software lifecycle: standards, version control, testing, release, and operations
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Bash, or Go)
- Exposure to AI Ops tools and techniques (log correlation, anomaly detection, predictive scaling)
Bonus points for:
- Experience with OpenVPN or other network tunneling/security tools
- Familiarity with Cloudflare (i.e. DNS, WAF, Zero Trust configuration)
- Exposure to DevSecOps practices, including secrets management, policy-as-code, and vulnerability scanning
- Experience deploying or managing SQL and NoSQL systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB)
- Familiarity with observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience with security event logging, anomaly detection, or compliance logging
- Experience with platforms like Datadog APM, New Relic, Splunk, or custom ML-based monitoring
- Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers or cross-functional infrastructure efforts
- Knowledge of enterprise deployment models, network segmentation, and policy-based access control
- Experience in cybersecurity and/or startups
