Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Systems and Application Engineering Manager to lead the development of a next-generation differential and EDU subsystem platform based on advanced powder metal technology and SSKU-approach. The role will be responsible for driving the system-level design, application integration, and validation strategy from concept through validation, working in close collaboration with our global design, testing, and industrialization teams in Germany and China.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in drivetrain systems with strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of differential, including concept development, technical specification, integration, validation EDU sub-systems, and release
  • Build and manage a global engineering team (starting in Aachen, expanding to China)
  • Own project budget, resource planning, timeline tracking, and stakeholder alignment
  • Interface with internal departments (Prototyping, Testing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales)
  • Act as technical contact for OEMs & Tier1s, particularly in the Chinese market
  • Develop local testing capabilities in China (initially with external partners, later in-house)
  • Implement structured development processes (DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP)
  • Support onboarding and knowledge transfer between Europe and China
  • Prepare the organization for a global technology rollout and long-term leadership expansion, This role offers the opportunity to lead cutting-edge development projects in advanced drivetrain systems, driving innovation in next-generation differential and EDU subsystems - while enabling mentorship and the development of a sustainable engineering organization. Requirements

Do you have experience in Project management?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Master's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum range of 5 to 10 years of experience in system engineering or product development for EDU subsystems, differentials, or similar drivetrain systems
  • Proven track record in leading complex cross-functional projects within an OEM or Tier 1 environment
  • Solid understanding of drivetrain architectures, NVH, and durability requirements
  • Experience with simulation-driven development, system validation, and APQP processes
  • International work experience or collaboration with multi-site engineering teams
  • Familiarity with validation tools and test planning (e.g. durability test cycles, NVH testing)
  • Open for possibility to relocate to China as a part of career progression, typically after 3 to 5 years in this role
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese is required to effectively communicate in our multinational environment and with diverse stakeholders. German language skills would be considered an advantage
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
