Job description
As an Embedded Cybersecurity Specialist in our service development team in cybersecurity, you will contribute directly to ensuring the security of embedded systems and System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms. Your role will involve both offensive and defensive aspects of embedded security, including penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and hardware-based attack methods, such as fault injection. As part of project participation, you will evaluate and verify the security of products and systems, specializing in secure embedded components. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with other cybersecurity experts in a multidisciplinary, communicative and structured team environment that develops new services and technical capabilities., * Perform security evaluations on System-on-Chip (SoC) and embedded devices.
- Analyze technical documentation and source code from a security perspective. Document findings and deliver high-quality technical reports.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of embedded platforms, using advanced security tools and techniques to detect and exploit hardware and software vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to method and capability development and continuously improve evaluation techniques.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues; contribute to the community via white papers, presentations, and blog posts.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SoC?, * Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields of relevance to the position.
- Strong foundation in embedded systems development (firmware, embedded OS, SoCs, MCUs or FPGAs) with interest to learn cybersecurity, or experience from working with cybersecurity in related to embedded systems.
- Comfortable reading and writing technical and scientific literature.
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant area for the position.
We also believe that you possess a subset of the following technical skills and knowledge domains
- Development experience in embedded firmware (C, C++, Rust, Java, .NET).
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers.
- Familiarity with hardware protocols: UART, I2C, SPI, JTAG.
- Experience with Linux and embedded operating systems.
- Understanding of ARM and other microcontroller architectures.
- Knowledge of secure boot, cryptographic storage, and authentication.
- Understanding of wireless protocols and IoT communications (e.g. Bluetooth, WiFi).
- Vulnerability analysis and penetration testing skills.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Experience in cybersecurity certification schemes and product evaluations.
- Knowledge of fault injection and side-channel attacks.
- Background in reverse engineering and software attack techniques.
- Experience with hardware description languages (e.g. VHDL for FPGA development).
- Understanding of semiconductor production and hardware design.
