Job description
We are currently seeking a Linux/OS Senior Systems Engineer to join our experienced technical team. This role is essential to ensuring availability, security and efficiency of our services through the administration, optimization, and automation of Linux systems.
This role is key to help maintain the high reliability and performance of our applications:
- Ensure compliance with the defined quality criteria.
- Ensure the use of the different automatic deployment tools in the field, and keep knowledge of process, documentation, and quality.
- Monitoring of SLA compliance based on KPIs defined
Responsabilities
As a Linux/OS Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability, performance, and scalability of our infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering and supporting Linux servers, with focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Managing and monitoring enterprise storage solutions (Pure Storage, NetApp, Dell).
- Participating in the implementation and administration of virtualization and container environments (VMware, Nutanix).
- Developing and executing automation scripts using Ansible, Python and Shell Scripts for operational and deployment tasks.
- Supporting and managing cloud services within the AWS ecosystem.
- Applying security best practices and implementing robust security measures across Linux systems.
- Systematically capturing and maintaining clear, comprehensive documentation of processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives focused on resource optimization, and infrastructure scalability.
- Responding to incidents and ensuring timely resolution.
- Participating in project deployments and ensuring smooth execution.
- Monitoring system performance and service availability.
- Providing technical support to development teams.
- Participating in 24x7 support shifts as part of the team's operational coverage.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VMware?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or telecommunications or proven work experience
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux administration (RHEL), including:
- Perform core Server Basis administration functions including software installations, configurations, support package update and upgrade, performance monitoring, tuning and capacity management.
- Experience in migration of versions with minimum impact.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in virtualization and scripting.
- Experience with cloud environments (preferably AWS)
- Knowledge programming in Python
- Knowledge of terraform
- Managing control version tools like Github
Desirable requirements
- Experience with Agile Methodologies
- Proficiency in Ansible
- Knowledge of storage systems
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence, * Strong analytical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively
