Job description

As a Software Engineer for the Network Discovery team, you will write efficient, well-structured, and maintainable code, set an example for peers, and mentor others. You will collaborate with lead designers and architects to drive the product forward and ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance of the product suite. Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on system architecture decisions, ensuring technical direction aligns with business goals.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices.
  • Offer technical guidance and feedback to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless delivery and cross-department alignment.
  • Break down large tasks into smaller components and distribute work among team members.
  • Participate in agile processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and prioritization.
  • Communicate effectively with product managers, designers, and clients to clarify requirements and align with business objectives.
  • Debug and resolve complex technical challenges beyond the scope of junior engineers.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support the "you build it you own it" mantra.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and maintain code ownership.
  • Understand and utilize software development tools including version control, build processes, debuggers, and test frameworks.
  • Work with primary technologies and other tools as described below.

Required Technologies

  • Primary Technologies: TypeScript/React, Angular, JavaScript, Node.js and Rust; GitHub; SOAP/REST web service APIs
  • Additional Technologies: AWS services (OpenSearch, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, RDS, ECS, and others); Redis, NoSQL; Microsoft SQL Server; Cloud technologies; CI/CD tools/pipelines

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience developing in either TypeScript or Rust
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI coding assistants effectively while maintaining code quality
  • Advanced expertise with Angular or similar modern front-end frameworks, including AI-assisted workflows
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Experience developing web applications, working with databases, and consuming APIs
  • Familiarity with version control, build processes, and test frameworks
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, * Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Rust; Python is a plus
  • Extensive experience architecting, building, and optimizing AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, S3, OpenSearch, RDS, etc.)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or Terraform)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases and performance tuning for high-scale systems
  • Experience working with development teams across multiple time zones
  • Proven track record of secure, scalable software for distributed systems
  • Experience with e-commerce, retail, online marketplaces, or digital advertising
  • Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment with attention to detail
