Senior Backend Developer & Software Architect

Overview Senior Backend Developer & Software Architect for Product Development - we are looking for an experienced backend engineer who can also shape our software architecture for the next phase of growth. As a Senior Backend Developer & Software Architect for Product Development, you will design and build high-performance backend systems to enhance products and solutions for our clients. You'll take the lead in defining architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across our services, while mentoring other engineers and contributing directly to our codebase. Key Responsibilities * Architect and implement backend services and APIs with a strong focus on scalability and maintainability. * Design database schemas and optimize performance for PostgreSQL and time-series databases (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB). * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical design with business goals. * Ensure best practices for code quality, testing, documentation, and

deployment. * Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to the development team. * Monitor and optimize system performance, including data storage, processing, and integrations. Minimum Requirements * 5+ years of experience in backend development and software architecture. * Strong expertise in Python (async frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask are a plus). * Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, optimization, and complex queries. * Hands-on experience with TimescaleDB and InfluxDB or other time-series databases. * Solid understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices. * Familiarity with DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines). * Proven experience working in medium-to-large development teams, with: Strong knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Proficiency in version control workflows (Git branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews). Writing clear documentation and following coding standards. Experience with collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Slack, etc.). Ability to communicate effectively across engineering, product, and QA teams. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Nice to Have * Experience with real-time data processing and streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.). * Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
