Chief Information Security Officer

A fast-growing fintech company is looking for an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead its cybersecurity strategy and operations. The company is a technology-first fintech scaleup, combining financial innovation with secure, high-performance infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a proven security leader with strong technical foundations, a pragmatic approach to compliance, and the ability to align security priorities with fast-moving product and engineering teams. What you'll do * Own the security vision and strategy - Define, implement, and evolve security frameworks that protect customer data, financial systems, and core infrastructure. * Lead the security team - Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing security function that partners effectively with engineering and product. * Embed security into the business - Collaborate with engineering and product to "shift left," ensuring security is built into every layer of development. * Manage risk and compliance - Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and regulatory risks, ensuring readiness for frameworks like DORA, MiCAR, SOC 2, ISO27001, etc. * Incident response - Develop and oversee detection, response, and remediation processes for security incidents. * Strategic leadership - Advise executives and the board on cybersecurity strategy, risk, and emerging threats. * Continuous improvement - Stay ahead of industry trends, fostering a culture of innovation and proactive learning within the security team. What we're looking for * Fintech background required - Experience in a fintech startup or scaleup environment is a must. * Leadership experience - At least 2 years in management within a CISO or similar senior security role. * Technical roots - Previous hands-on engineering or software development experience. * Depth in cybersecurity - 8+ years overall in information security, with solid understanding of cloud security, risk management, and regulatory frameworks. * Balanced mindset - Able to navigate between compliance rigor and product velocity, driving practical and scalable security outcomes. * Clear communicator - Comfortable translating complex security topics for non-technical stakeholders. * Education - Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
