Your new role

As a Software Architect, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining the architecture of mission-critical systems. Your main tasks include:

  • Acting as a key liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify and document high-level requirements
  • Translating operational needs into a scalable, future-proof system architecture aligned with the roadmap
  • Creating architecture and high-level design documentation
  • Supporting development teams throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Ensuring consistency across components with a focus on safety, security, and maintainability
  • Leading workshops and technical discussions to validate architectural decisions

Requirements

  • Professional fluency in English, plus proficiency in Dutch and/or French
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Solid background in software architecture and requirement analysis
  • Proficiency in data modeling and design tools (e.g., UML)
  • Experience in UI application design and software implementation
  • Knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and security principles
  • Strong communication skills and ability to moderate workshops under tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with safety-critical systems or signaling technology is a plus
