The Data Scientist II (Revenue Optimization - Experimentation) is an exciting role within our B2B Analytics Team. This person will primarily be responsible for measuring the impact of our Revenue Optimization initiatives to enhance competitiveness and accelerate revenue growth for Expedia's multi-billion-dollar B2B business. Key responsibilities include the design and measurement of AB-tests, application of causal inference methods and creation of readouts for technical and commercial leaders in the organization. This person will work in a small but extremely impactful team, in charge of advising C-level leaders on Revenue Optimization strategy and tactics. He/she will also work closely with the Machine Learning Science team and the rest of the Analytics team to make sure that decisions (model selection, application of Revenue Optimization strategies, etc) made at all levels are based on factual data.
In this role, you will:
- Extract and combine data from multiple sources to support model building and analytics.
- Design and recommend experiments (A/B, pre/post, causal inference) to enhance the performance of our Revenue Optimization systems
- Apply statistical techniques (frequentist, Bayesian, counterfactual) to experimentation and measurement.
- Collaborate with Machine Learning and Strategy teams to iteratively refine project scope and deliverables.
- Build basic data pipelines and workflows, ensuring reproducibility and documentation.
- Come up with new ideas to improve both our measurement processes and the efficiency of our ML systems
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * You are a critical thinker with a curious mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
- You are proficient in SQL and Python, with a solid grounding in probability and statistics (frequentist, Bayesian, non-parametric).
- You are experienced in communicating insights through clear, accessible data visualisations.
- You are someone who values to be respectfully challenged and continuously learn. At the same time, are willing to provide feedback to your colleagues (both junior and senior) aimed at improving our efficiency.
- You are a collaborative team player with a track record of contributing to impactful projects.
- You are educated to degree level (3+ years for Bachelors/Masters or 1+ year for PhDs) with hands-on experience in experimentation.
