Join Sage as our new Principal CloudOps Engineer, part of The Cloud Operations team. You will be responsible for the performance and operations of Sage's online Product portfolio, ensuring products and services remain available, secure and performant.
DevOps merges software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops)and aims to heighten an organisation's capacity to deliver services and applications at high speed, compared to traditional infrastructure management and software development processes. DevOps teams, however, do not always include systems development professionals responsible for improving site performance and reliability. This is where the Principal CloudOps Engineer comes into play.
*** This is a hybrid position - you will work 3 days a week from our Barcelona office.***
Responsabilidades principales
- Own initiatives aimed at improving processes and systems
- Design, scale, and secure infrastructure to stay ahead of business needs
- Ensure our products remain available, performant, secure, observable, and cost-effective
- Work closely with both product engineering
- Drive innovation and automation to eliminate toil
- Promote SRE principles and good practices to help us grow in a sustainable way
- Ensure all components are highly scalable and maintainable
- Use your product development experience to build and take ownership of services
- Communicate, collaborate and build relationships in an open-minded, competent, and professional manner across the spectrum of Sage organisation leadership and departmental functions

Requirements
Do you have experience in Software development?, * Expertise in working on both sides of Development and Operations - write, test, review code and then deliver that code to production. Be able to monitor, support, and maintain it
- A number of years' of proficiency with one or more development languages
- Significant experience with public cloud platforms - AWS specifically.
- Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD capability
- Aptitude in using observability tools
- Significant experience with RDBMS
- Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies
- Significant experience and knowledge in networking (
- A robust understanding of large-scale systems architecture
- A thorough understanding of SRE principles and practice
- Proven experience working in a technical leadership capacity
