Job description

Context And Mission The NLP for Biomedical Information Analysis Unit of the BSC-CNS aims to promote the development of natural language processing and machine translation resources in the biomedical field in Spanish, Catalan and other co-official languages. The candidate will work within an international project integrated into a team of researchers working on topics related to deep learning approaches applied to information extraction (NER), entity linking and language modelling on biomedical documents. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on developing cross-lingual NLP systems and applying cutting-edge technologies in NLP and language modelling applied to the biomedical field. They will also have the opportunity to explore HPC applied to NLP. Este contrato se encuentra financiado por el proyecto "TERESIA. Key Duties * Develop and implement algorithms for extracting structured information from biomedical literature and real medical records. * Collaborate with domain experts to identify and prioritize research questions. * Analyze and interpret complex data sets. * Write and maintain efficient and reusable code. * Present findings at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications. Requirements Education * Master's degree (or equivalent qualification) in Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience * Good programming skills in Python * Experience in machine learning and neural Pytorch, Spacy, Transformers) Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience * Knowledge of and preferably hands-on experience with natural language technologies such as Named-Entity Recognition, Entity Linking
