Job description

The Enterprise Technology IT Security team is internally focused with the mission of securing the endpoints, applications, infrastructure, services and networks that Datadog employees rely on on a daily basis. This includes thousands of devices running macOS, Windows, and Linux, as well as SaaS services like Google Workspace and Slack.

As an IT Security Engineer II, you'll contribute directly to strengthening the security of our systems and applications through employing proactive security measures, building integrations via APIs and automation, and incident response.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform comprehensive security gap assessments and improve the security posture across multiple enterprise SaaS platforms, employee endpoints, and office networks.
  • Implement, tune, and operate enterprise security solutions, including Security Service Edge (SSE), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Email Security, Vulnerability Management, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Use the Datadog platform to improve incident detection and response by integrating enterprise security platforms through automation.
  • Collaborate with other Datadog teams in the development and implementation of new security controls to protect against emerging threats.
  • Respond to and manage security incidents across Datadog’s IT infrastructure.
  • Act as a security subject matter expert within the Datadog Enterprise Technology organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a security operations role and able to demonstrate strong understanding of IT systems (e.g., Google Workspace, Jamf, Intune), and security concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise security platforms, with hands-on experience administering threat and anomaly detection solutions (e.g., EDR, XDR, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike).
  • Skilled in scripting/automation (e.g. Python, GoLang, or PowerShell) and experienced with integrating systems via APIs.
  • Experienced working in cloud computing environments such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Curious, persistent, and committed to solving challenging security problems end-to-end.
  • Great at verbal and written communications.

Benefits & conditions

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our internal panel discussions
  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
  • Competitive global benefits

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
