Job description
- Operate, maintain, and optimize telecom network platforms including IP/MPLS core, access networks, firewall clusters, and data center interconnects
- Execute lifecycle management activities such as software upgrades, hardware refreshes, and platform migrations with minimal service impact
- Analyze and resolve complex network issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive structural improvements
- Lead and contribute to innovation initiatives, such as introducing Spine/Leaf DC technologies solutions, cloud-based networking, and full-stack automation (e.g., Ansible, Python, CI/CD pipelines).
- Ensure configuration compliance, maintain network documentation, and implement operational standards
- Actively support the Agile and DevOps way of working with a focus on continuous improvement and delivery
- Collaborate with operations teams, network architects, vendors, and security stakeholders to ensure high service quality
- Embrace a team mindset where knowledge sharing, transparency, and staying up to date with team activities are essential
Requirements
Do you have experience in VPN?, * 5+ years of experience as a network engineer in a large-scale telecom or service provider environment
- Certified Cisco CCNP (Enterprise or Service Provider track). Arista and Juniper skills are preferred
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols and telecom technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VPN, VXLAN, MPLS, VRF, QoS, and IPv6
- Strong hands-on experience with network automation using tools such as Ansible, Python, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiar with carrier-grade network environments, high-availability concepts, and SLA-driven operations
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Willing to participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation
- Team-oriented, proactive communicator with a customer-focused attitude
- Experience working in Agile/DevOps teams (Scrum, SAFe) is a plus and good knowledge of ITIL processes
- Proactive, flexible, and comfortable operating within a process-driven and structured environment
- You work independently, think ahead and seek cooperation
- Good communication skills, fluent in Dutch and English
