Job description

  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend systems and microservices.
  • Architect and implement RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs that integrate with AI-powered services.
  • Lead backend development initiatives, contributing to system design and technical decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and AI specialists to build seamless, intelligent applications.
  • Implement and advocate for test automation and CI/CD best practices.
  • Optimize data flows and storage solutions using both traditional SQL databases and modern architectures like data mesh.
  • Deploy and manage applications using containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills - you'll be working closely with a small, cross-functional team.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion.
  • 5+ years of backend development experience in a production environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks. Rust and Golang experience is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of API design, microservices architecture, and test automation.
  • Proven experience with AWS technologies and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of SQL databases and experience working with large-scale distributed data systems.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML integration in backend systems.
  • Experience with Docker for containerization and deployment.
  • Exposure to data mesh principles or distributed data ownership is a plus.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in DevOps or familiarity with CI/CD tools.
  • Prior experience working in a startup or small team environment.
