Job description
Location: Hybrid, Utrecht-based (1 day a week in the office). Some travel to client sites (up to 2 days per week), We are seeking a Security Solutions Consultant with deep expertise in the Microsoft Security stack, specifically Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender, to design, implement and optimise integrated security and compliance solutions for our clients.
This role focuses on protecting data and defending identities, devices and cloud workloads across Microsoft 365 and Azure. You will act as a trusted advisor, combining technical depth with consulting skill. You will ensure that solutions are secure, scalable and deliver measurable risk reduction and business value to our clients.
You will lead with expertise in Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance, and Microsoft Defender for threat prevention, detection and response. Your ability to connect these domains will be key to helping our clients adopt a cohesive Zero Trust strategy., * Design and deliver enterprise-grade security and compliance solutions leveraging Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender technologies.
- Conduct security assessments, workshops and proof of concepts, translating business and compliance requirements into secure, practical technical designs.
- Deploy and optimise Defender solutions including Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity, and Defender for Cloud Apps, ensuring full integration and best-practice configuration.
- Implement Purview capabilities such as Information Protection, DLP, Insider Risk, eDiscovery, and Compliance Manager, aligning policies with regulatory frameworks.
- Integrate security telemetry across Defender, Entra, Purview and Sentinel for unified visibility, response and compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with Practice Leads to shape clients proposals, estimated and technical statement of work.
- Stay current with Microsoft's evolving security roadmap and continuously enhance both your own expertise and that of our wider Operations team.
- Create clear documentation, implementation and operational runbooks to support implementation and transition to support.
- Contribute to internal frameworks, standards, and reusable assets that elevate CWSI delivery quality and consistency.
- Assist our Sales team and Practice Leads on ad-hoc basis with presales engagements related to Microsoft Purview, Defender and/or Security Copilot.

Deep expertise in Microsoft Purview: Information Protection, DLP, Insider Risk, eDiscovery, Compliance Manager, Information Governance.
Strong working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Entra
- Microsoft Sentinel

Requirements
Do you have experience in Security?, * 5+ years experience in security consultancy or engineering with demonstrable delivery of Microsoft Security Solutions.
- Proven track record in Defender suite design, deployment and optimisation across enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of data protection and compliance requirements and how to operationalise them through Microsoft Purview.
- Experience delivering integrated Microsoft Security Solutions combining identity, threat and data protection.
- Experience in Microsoft Security Co-pilot preferred.
- Excellent consulting and communication skills. Able to translate complex security concepts for both technical and business audiences.
- Experience working in Professional Services or customer-facing delivery, managing multiple engagements concurrently.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications highly desirable (eg. SC-200, SC-400, SC-100, SC-300, AZ-500).
- Deep understanding of security governance and risk frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS, GDPR, NIS2)
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating across teams to drive technical and operational excellence.
- Presales experience a plus.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
