Job description

A leading organisation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to strengthen its platform engineering capabilities. In this role, you will design, optimise, and maintain scalable platform architectures while ensuring high levels of reliability, security, and performance. You will play a key part in automating infrastructure processes, supporting application teams, and developing Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) to streamline software delivery across the organisation., * Support the Platform Engineering Portfolio Owner in designing and implementing platform architecture aligned with enterprise requirements and best practices.

  • Automate infrastructure management, enabling developer self-service via centrally managed tools and workflows.
  • Build and maintain Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) to enable seamless and reliable software delivery.
  • Collaborate with development teams and senior stakeholders to enhance platform performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot a wide range of issues, including complex problems requiring diagnostics and root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills when engaging with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • High level of analytical thinking, essential for complex problem-solving.
  • Ability to create, read, and adjust technical documentation.
  • Proven experience writing Infrastructure-as-Code for public cloud environments (Terraform preferred; multi-cloud experience is beneficial).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Python).
  • Experience creating pipelines-as-code using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure Pipelines.
  • Experience working closely with application teams and using common development tools (e.g., Gradle, dotnet, npm).
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and/or Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP., * Knowledge and practical experience with GitOps methodologies.
  • Experience building Internal Developer Platforms.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for observability.
  • Experience managing private cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
