Job description
The role involves the provision of support and maintenance for the ICT infrastructure, working on problem analysis and resolution and contributing to the infrastructure projects to implement solutions - often working closely with colleagues in other ICT teams.
You will need experience in autonomously configuring, installing, maintaining, and supporting operating systems (Windows Server and some Linux), hardware, and peripherals to corporate standards and established procedures, including monitoring and proactive response. Alongside knowledge of physical and virtual server hardware configuration and management.

Cloud such as Azure Infrastructure Management (including on-prem hybrid) and Microsoft 365
Cyber Security Controls
Anti-Virus, including Trend and Defender
Data Protection with Veeam
802.1x / Entra ID & other common Authentication protocols
Supporting Design & Planning, and producing HOTS Documentation
Working to industry standards, including NCSC
Any Virtual Datacentre Operations (Nutanix preferred)
Infrastructure Automation (modern tooling/automation or scripting + PowerShell/Ansible).
Additionally
Layer 7 NextGen Firewalls (Palo Alto)
WAN / LAN - (SDWAN, Alcatel Switching, Aruba WiFi)
Remote Access (Global Protect).
HDC Flexible Working hours are available to all staff - the team operates a rota for daily systems checks so flexibility for periodic early start is expected. Due to the nature of the role, planned works 'out of hours' are necessary and is covered by overtime or flexi, as are monthly maintenance weekends. A rota for on-call engineer is in place, which attracts an allowance.

We are currently working a hybrid remote arrangement which still includes work from home and flexi time opportunities, but candidates must be within commutable distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambourne and Cambridge areas, with the expectation of one - two days a week working in the office. The role precludes full remote working, with the requirement of being able to attend any site managed by 3CSS as required, to attend incidents or for planned work.
