Job description

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate Consulting and Professional Services experience, with a background as a Security Engineer/Architect. You will have participated in numerous customer-facing projects, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of Azure security solutions that safeguard customers' assets, business, and operations aligned to their risk tolerance and budget.

This is a lead role heading up our Azure Security practice. The role requires you to be able to deliver security solution workshops, translate customers cybersecurity requirements/strategies into scoped engagements, and being directly involved with the deployment and configuration of security solutions in Azure. In addition, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining the same security solutions to protect the Servent corporate environment., * Own our Servent Security offerings to ensure these align current and future Security solutions from Microsoft

  • Support the attainment of the Microsoft Azure Advanced Specialisations related to Azure Security.
  • Assess and review our customers security capabilities, identifying control gaps and design appropriate security solutions using the M365/Intune/Azure Security services that align with the customers cybersecurity aspirations, business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all solutions demonstrate high levels of performance, security, scalability, and appropriate resiliency and reliability upon deployment.
  • Develop deep relationships with key customer IT decision makers, who drive long-term cloud adoption within their company, enabling them to be cloud security advocates.
  • Collaborate with Servent Azure Architects and Azure Engineers in deploying security solutions and configurations at enterprise-scale.
  • Ensure that all Servent corporate assets and data is appropriately secured and managing the configuration of the relevant security platform technologies.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the required security controls are configured, executed and evidenced in support of our ISO certification and Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. This will also include undertaking audit activities relating to the associated internal and external audits.
  • Working in an agile environment.
  • Support pre-sales activities with prospective customers.
  • Prepare high-level security project proposals and resultant Statement of Work documents.
  • Maintain technical skills and keep abreast of developments and new capabilities across Azure Security platform technologies and share these learnings with the broader technical community via User Groups and/or public events.

Requirements

At least three years of experience in designing and implementing security solutions for infrastructure, endpoints, applications, and data, including security operations, identity, and compliance capabilities. Demonstrable experience across the following areas:

  • Relationship Building - a proven track record of building deep technical relationships with customers. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to reach consensus on solution/projects.
  • Problem Solving - The ability to understand complex security problems and develop effective solutions using Azure Security platform technologies. This involves a strategic approach to problem-solving and the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts.
  • Collaboration and Communication - capable of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership - ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer security projects. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management, etc. acting as subject matter expert for security architecture to advise on and influence strategic decisions).
  • Certified - currently holds (or on a pathway to) achieving the following Azure certifications: Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Identity and Access Administrator Associate & Security Operations Analyst Associate. Any industry recognised qualification that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the wider Information Security domains such as ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Systems Security Certified Practitioner, Certified Cyber Professional, etc, would be advantageous.

Technical Experience

Enterprise-scale technical experience in securing identity, devices, data, applications, network, infrastructure, DevOps and AI. Additionally, experience with solutions for Governance and Risk Compliance (GRC), security operations, and security posture management. Subject matter expertise across many of the following areas:

  • Detailed understanding and extensive experience with the Azure Security platform e.g. Microsoft Defender for Cloud CSPM and all CWPPs, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Intune, Defender for Identity, Entra P2 security capabilities (e.g. Entra ID Protection, Conditional Access, MFA], Entra External ID, Entra ID Governance, Defender for Office 365, Exchange Online Protection, Defender for IoT, Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra Internet Access, Microsoft Entra Private Access, Azure Policy and Sentinel plus Security Copilot.

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the security design principles defined in the Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well-Architected Framework and how these are applied to guide the architecture, design choices, and operational processes to ensure secure workloads that can detect, respond to, and recover from security incidents and disruptions effectively.

  • Fully proficient in KQL with hands on experience using this with Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, Azure Resource Graph Explorer, MDC and Sentinel.

  • Familiarity with secure network design principles, including segmentation and zero-trust architectures.

  • Awareness of and some experience in integrating security into the development process (DevSecOps).

  • Ability to perform threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
