Job description

Your primary responsibilities will include OCP deployments, testing upgrades, resolving issues with Operators, creating new Operators, updating operator dependencies, and serving as the subject matter expert (SME) on OpenShift within the team. In addition to your technical expertise, you will also have the opportunity to mentor and guide other team members in OCP-related matters., * OCP Deployments: Lead the planning, configuration, and deployment of OpenShift environments to support our applications and services.

  • Testing and Upgrades: Conduct thorough testing of OpenShift upgrades and apply necessary updates to ensure the stability and performance of the platform.
  • Operator Management: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with Operators within the OpenShift environment. Collaborate with development teams to improve Operator functionality.
  • Operator Development: Create new Operators and enhance existing ones to automate and streamline processes within our OpenShift environment.
  • Operator Dependency Management: Manage and update operator dependencies to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Liaison with CloudPak Team: Regularly collaborate with the CloudPak team to coordinate dependency upgrades and ensure smooth product releases.
  • CloudPak Certifications: Take ownership of CloudPak certifications, ensuring that our OpenShift deployments align with CloudPak requirements and best practices.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Set the goal of ensuring that OCP deployments are smooth for our customers, meeting their expectations and needs.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Become the go-to SME for OpenShift within the team, providing guidance and solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Mentorship: Share your knowledge and expertise by mentoring other team members, fostering their growth in OpenShift technology.

Requirements

We are seeking a skilled and motivated OCP (OpenShift Cloud Platform) Engineer to join our team. As an OCP Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving OpenShift-related initiatives within our organization., * Key skills: Ansible, Operator SDK, Docker, podman, Kubernetes or Redhat OpenShift, Linux and shell scripting

  • Knowledge of the concept of Container images, Kubernetes platform and the concepts of deploying and managing a containerized software solution in Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes Operators and Operator Live Cycle Management
  • Familiar with security and networking aspects of Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience in deploying, managing, and maintaining OpenShift/K8s environments in production settings.
  • Need to have a certification on Redhat OpenShift relevant to the responsibliites in the Job description.

Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge about SSL, private key, certificate, CA and how are managed in Java (keystore)
  • Knowledge about NGINX reverse proxy
  • Experience in creating Operator for Kubernetes-
  • Hands-on experience with installation, configuration of OCP cluster.
  • Others Skills -Jinja
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and mentoring.
