Job description

If so, you should consider leading Response Engineering Detections and monitoring platforms team as a Principal Software Engineering Manager. We are looking for a leader to work on solutions that protect Microsoft services against cyberattacks. We are a team that values diversity of multiple fronts and believes in deep collaboration bringing the best side of technology. Our team consists of engineers with expertise in large-scale software systems, security analysis, big data, and machine learning. We delight in digging in deep to analyse the billions of events and terabytes of data generated each day by all Microsoft products and services (e.g., Azure, M365 suite) for evidence of suspicious activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 8-10 highly talented team of Software Engineers on Monitoring and Detections platform team
  • Provide leadership on engineering best practices within and across teams in areas of Security, Scalability, and maintainability
  • A hands-on technical leader who sets the engineering direction with sound design practices and guides the team with best practices in software design.
  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of various capabilities within migration with focus on quality, scale, and sustainable development practices.
  • Experience in technical leadership in driving engineering roadmaps, leading teams, mentoring, and helping others grow.
  • Own career development of team through active coaching.
  • Lead the team by bringing clarity, creating energy, and driving results across engineering and product management globally
  • Create a strong team culture of engineering excellence, customer passion, collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Bachelors/master's in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 12-15 years of industry experience in software development and building world class solutions.
  • 5+ years as an engineering manager
  • Experience/knowledge of cloud computing, enterprise computing, database products
  • Experience in technical leadership in driving engineering roadmaps, leading v-teams, mentoring and helping others grow technically
  • Experience writing maintainable code in C++/C#/Java/Python
  • Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication skill and executive presence
  • Passion to grow a diverse team of engineers and managers, * Proficient in leading teams working on cloud-computing environments like Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP - Azure preferred
  • Experience on Big Data technologies like Apache Spark for big data workloads processing
  • Prior experience leading engineering teams in security investigation and incident response tooling
  • Prior experience working on AI/ML technologies
  • Experience in leading product teams and provide scaled solutions to the customers
