Job description
As a Support Engineer you will play a vital role in projects to deliver support for tactical communications platforms and communication systems within complex defence programmes.
Specifically, you will be supporting emerging and active defence programmes with tactical communications, supporting their integration and in-service transition.
Working across UK MOD, NATO-aligned projects, and industry partners, you will support our Partners in delivering their high-tech solutions. Collaborating with stakeholders to shape optimised, cost-effective solutions for cutting-edge battlefield communications systems.
- Also Contribute to Supportability Case development and Lifecycle Costing
- Provide technical input into Through-Life Support strategies.
- Interface with MOD teams, defence primes, and SMEs to gather data and support operational deployment.
- Offer consultancy on secure, agile communications infrastructure.
Requirements
- Significant experience in Systems Engineering roles within defence, aerospace, or high integrity systems.
- Experience with CIS, C4ISR, or tactical comms systems in a supportability or systems engineering capacity.
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams, including operational users and digital and IT stakeholders.
- Knowledge of MOD acquisition processes and defence support frameworks
- The ability to interpret and develop ILS artefacts in line with MOD and NATO policy.
- This role would be ideal for a Foreman of Signals or Yeoman of Signals looking for their next challenge. Other organisations may call this Position : Yeoman of Signals, Foreman of Signals, Defence Communications Manager, Communications Engineering Manager, Communications Support Manager, or Communications Project Manager.
