Job description
As a Senior Digital Design Engineer, you will take ownership of architecting and designing electronic digital circuitry for industrial, healthcare/life sciences, and aerospace/defence market sectors. You will collaborate with talented hardware, software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and test engineers throughout all phases of the product development life cycle - from idea and conceptualize; through requirements, design, and development; to manufacturing transition and into the market. You will work on a wide range of practical experience and be able to quickly expand your knowledge into new areas as appropriate for the task. You will derive technical performance specifications from high-level use cases, even if these are not well-defined, and communicate ideas well with customers and internal stakeholders. Additionally, you will collaborate well with other technical specialists and enable them to contribute to the design process.
Requirements
- Possession of a degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject
- Ability to take ownership of architecting and designing electronic digital circuitry for industrial, healthcare/life sciences, and aerospace/defence market sectors.
- Proficiency in HDL languages (i.e. VHDL, SystemVerilog) to model hardware behaviour
- Proficiency in synthesis, timing analysis/closure, and place and route using Vivado and/or Quartus
- Proficiency in implementing fully self-checking test benches with directed and constrained random test cases
- Proficiency in optimizing FPGA pinouts and oversee PCB layouts of FPGA supporting circuitry
- Ability to collaborate with a team of other digital, analog, software, mechanical, and system engineers to review and improve hardware designs
