Job description

Data Analytics and Insight exist to provide a broad range of data products to colleagues across the Society. As a Senior Analytics Consultant, you'll lead the development of strategic insights and advanced analytics to support proposition development and problem-solving across the Society. You'll work in multi-skilled teams, bridging data and business functions, and helping transition from traditional reporting to predictive and prescriptive analytics.

You'll provide technical leadership, mentor analysts, and champion a data-driven culture. Your role will involve translating complex data into actionable insights, aligning analytics initiatives with business goals, and driving innovation across the analytics landscape.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or London office. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here., You'll be part of a strategic analytics team and play a pivotal role in transitioning Nationwide from traditional reporting to strategic insight generation and advanced analytics. You'll act as a bridge between data teams and business functions, ensuring stakeholder needs are met and translated into impactful data initiatives. You will be expected to provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to colleagues across the wider team to help grow collective capability in your core area of expertise.

Lead analytics teams to deliver impactful insights and advanced analytics and manage requirements gathering and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Act as a strategic partner to business stakeholders, translating needs into data solutions. Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to build team capability. Champion innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.

Drive analytics evolution from descriptive to predictive and prescriptive and promote a data-driven culture across the Society.

Collaborate with Data Engineering and Technology teams to ensure scalable, secure infrastructure. Requirements

Do you have experience in Statistical analysis?, * Excellent communication skills providing highly effective subject matter expertise to both internal and external stakeholders, translating complex data findings to easily consumable stories that drive action

  • Proven leadership in advanced analytics or data science within large organisations
  • Expertise in SQL, statistical modelling, and AI techniques
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience mentoring and developing analytical talent
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Financial services or regulated industry experience
  • Innovative, agile, and resilient with a passion for continuous improvement
