Requirements

  • Full-Stack Development Expertise: Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Node.js, and Python, with experience across the entire technical stack including frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Cloud and DevOps Proficiency: Strong knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, and hands-on experience with cloud-native tools such as Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, and Terraform, alongside best practices in CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Proven ability to lead engineering teams, drive technical strategy, and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

You'll be a senior member of the Digital Modernisation and Efficiency team, shaping digital services used by millions of people.

You'll mentor junior engineers, promote best practices like CI/CD and automated testing, and ensure systems are secure, resilient, and accessible. You'll need to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that really work for the people that use them.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home (40%) and some time collaborating face to face in a hub (60%).

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £78,517.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £19,758 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
