Job description
As our Senior PHP Developer, you will take a lead role in designing, developing, and enhancing our SaaS platforms using PHP, Laravel, modern JavaScript, and cloud technologies. This role will see you contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring junior developers, improving DevOps and automation processes, and taking ownership of projects from concept to deployment.
You'll work within an Agile development environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality code, scalable solutions, and seamless product releases. You will be instrumental in driving continual advancement across our platforms, tools, and processes., * Develop, enhance, and maintain high-quality software solutions using PHP, Laravel, MVC frameworks, and modern JavaScript libraries
- Lead technical project delivery, ensuring timely, robust, and scalable outputs
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to deliver new features and product improvements
- Take ownership of cloud-based software deployments and CI/CD pipelines
- Advocate for coding best practices and introduce new technologies and automation where beneficial
- Contribute to system architecture discussions and technical decision-making
- Mentor and support team members, guiding the wider development team towards excellence
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Software development?, Essential:
- 7+ years' experience in software development roles
- Strong proficiency in PHP & Laravel, with a solid understanding of MVC frameworks
- Skilled in modern JavaScript and front-end development
- Commercial experience working with MySQL, RESTful APIs, and cloud services (AWS preferred)
- Experience working in an Agile / Scrum development environment
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Desirable (not essential but beneficial):
- Familiarity with React
- Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code
- Experience working on enterprise or large-scale SaaS products, This is a hybrid role based at our Wilmslow / Handforth office. Due to limited public transport links, a full driving licence and ability to reliably commute to the office is required (or willingness to relocate prior to starting).
