Job description
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking skilled FPGA Design Engineers to support high-integrity UK infrastructure and security programmes. These are long-term contract opportunities contributing to complex, safety-critical systems.
We are looking for engineers with a solid understanding of FPGA design and verification processes, ideally with experience delivering solutions from concept through to implementation and test. You'll join a collaborative team working closely with end clients on national-level engineering challenges., * Design, implement, and verify FPGA solutions using VHDL.
- Translate system-level requirements into robust, scalable FPGA architectures.
- Perform synthesis, place and route, and timing closure to meet design constraints.
- Develop testbenches, scripts, and supporting software to streamline the design lifecycle.
- Debug and resolve technical issues in demanding environments.
- Capture and refine technical requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of FPGA design principles and hardware development.
- Proficiency in VHDL and associated simulation and synthesis tools.
- Experience developing and testing complex digital architectures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and liaise directly with clients.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Scripting experience in TCL or Python for tool automation.
