The Role
This opportunity for an Intermediate Java Developer at Gentrack will allow you to continue to develop your Java skillset in an energising and supportive environment. You will join an Agile scrum team working on an industry leading, cloud-based utilities platform. As part of our culture of excellence you will receive time and resources for personal development as well as access to an extensive training platform. We believe in a hybrid work environment where developers are given autonomy to do their best work.
The Specfics
- Developing and maintaining software as part of a self-organising, multi-disciplined scrum team
- Follow, and continuously improve, established engineering practices as part of a tier 1 delivery organisation
- Ensure a focus on quality through code reviews, development testing, and maintaining our automated test suite
- Participating in Agile sprint ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, refinement, planning, and retrospectives
- Continually grow within your role through personal training and development
- Guide and support more junior team members
- Provide a link between technical and non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally
- Recognise gaps in our product and ways of working, then proposing and supporting improvements

Requirements

3+ years commercial Java software development experience

Working knowledge of Agile

Proficiency in relevant technologies and concepts including Object Orientated Design, Java or .Net experience, AWS, and SQL Databases

Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn about, the Utilities industry.
