Senior TCMS Design Engineer

You will be working as Senior TCMS Design Engineer at and will be part of Motion Business Area for Traction Division based in Bangalore North, India. In this role you will be reporting to Senior Engineering Manager and will be responsible for supporting projects on technical or process issues. Performs design validation and verification activities on functions and TC&IS sub-system (TCMS / VCU SW) on the project assigned.

Your responsibilities

• Providing input and recommending changes to new and existing product designs. Continually recommending improvements in all areas related to standards and products
• Travelling between 20 to 35 percent of the time to provide technical support for TCMS commissioning, depending on the needs of the project
• Executing engineering activities of one of the Train Control and Information Solutions (TC&IS) Domain: Proto Validation & test
• Developing competencies required for this domain, following the right methodologies and tools. Ensuring the application of the standard processes in his/her domain
• Designing products taking into account project requirements (performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc)
• Analyzing change request impacts on assigned zone and applying change if request accepted

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical /electronic engineering
• Minimum 3-7 years of related work experience (TCMS - Train control and Management System) and working experience in at least 2- 3 TCMS subsystems is a must
• Good knowledge of functional safety requirements applied in rail transportation (EN50126, EN50657)
• Expertise in using a requirements management tool and version control system are preferred
• Programming experiences preferably in C, C++, C#, Java, python etc and experiences in IEC 61131-3 (PLC, SCADA and industrial Automation Knowledge) would be an advantage
• Excellent application knowledge of three-phase electric locomotives, EMUs, metros, propulsion converters, auxiliary converters, and communication standards according to IEC 61375 (CAN, MVB, WTB, TRDP)
• Ability to convert the function description to mathematical/logic solution
