Hardware System Engineer

In the role of hardware validation tool developer, this individual will be responsible for understanding new hardware architecture features, developing a strategy for its end-to-end testing, designing new programs or enhancing existing programs for the same and also designing associated test scenarios for complete testing of new hardware feature (along with the software stack on top of it) for individual hardware features in IBM Power family of servers. You will be owning, upgrading and maintaining these programs and represent it in global product team. You will interact with test teams and participate in their test planning activities. You will also be expected to design and implement complex test cases which will be used with the tool. You will be part of a matured team and is expected to adhere to all business processes laid down in the team.

• 2-5 years of extensive working experience in C language.
• Proven understanding of server design and architecture
• Proven understanding of OS internals like kernel basics, device driver details etc
• Proven understanding of various programming methodology and data structures
• Proven understanding in server processor, network, storage and interconnect
• Familiarity with Host OS virtualization
• Proven debugging and problem-solving skills (experience with application debugge preferred)
• Proven skills in scripting languages (Shell/Python)
• Familiarity with software development processes, code management and status reporting tools
