Job description

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Engineering teams to provide technical solutions for bid and tender activities to meet the requirements of various customers.
  • Conduct system-level design of space and ground segments, including requirements analysis, sensitivity analysis, mission analysis, and design trade-offs.
  • Engage in system engineering activities throughout all project phases, such as requirements management and engineering, mission concept development, system/subsystem interfacing, assembly, integration, testing, commissioning, and operations.
  • Perform cost, risk, schedule, and performance evaluations to make informed decisions.
  • Lead or support technical studies for diverse customers.
  • Review technical work and mentor junior colleagues when required.
  • Improve and adhere to relevant company standards and work practices.
  • Conduct customer-facing meetings and presentations during all stages of the project.
  • Prepare high-quality project documentation and presentation materials.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers.
  • Manage subcontractors as needed.
  • Manage one or more project work packages.
  • Act as a technical focal point for our client's Mission Products, maintaining critical system-level information related to these products.

Requirements

  • Ideally, at least 7+ years of experience as an experienced spacecraft Systems Engineer.
  • Proven experience in designing space missions from end-user requirements (cradle-to-grave).
  • Experience in designing and analyzing space and ground segments at the sub-system level.
  • Proficient in requirements and verification management.
  • Ideally, experience in spacecraft level verification testing and in-orbit commissioning, along with associated spacecraft operations.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  • A good degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, or Maths.
  • Strong knowledge of orbit analysis, constellation configurations, RF link analysis, system budgets, operations, ground segment, space environment, and satellite mechanical and electrical architectures.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of satellite applications, such as Earth observation, communications, navigation, science, etc.
  • Good understanding of requirements management, FMECA, and FDIR design.
  • Excellent command of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project or equivalent planning tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in STK and Matlab or equivalent analysis tools.
  • Hands-on familiarity with environmental testing (e.g., vibration and thermal vacuum tests) and space flight equipment assembly and test methods.
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and proactive approach to taking initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with customers and technical representatives.
  • Effective team working skills and the ability to influence others at all levels.
  • Proven ability to deliver solutions under pressure and within tight timescales.
  • Demonstrated alignment with our client's company mindsets and behaviors, including being accountable, driving delivery, effective communication, self-management, and working as one team.
