Job description

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Operations & Technology to lead and enhance our operational and technological strategy across multiple offices. This senior leadership position requires a strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and a deep understanding of operational processes and technology within the accountancy or professional services sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, delivering digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of client service., Operational Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise operational efficiency, productivity, and quality across the organisation.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, compliance, and risk management in line with policies, industry regulations, and best practice (including H&S and GDPR).
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to streamline processes and enhance performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Ensure operational processes align with business objectives and maintain clear operational policies and procedures.
  • Manage office facilities and service contracts to provide an optimal working environment that supports engagement and company culture.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to ensure cost efficiency and service quality.

Technology Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of the company's technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies relevant to the accountancy industry, assessing potential benefits and risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify technology needs and opportunities for innovation.
  • Drive digital transformation through the adoption of tools and systems that improve accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to ongoing data accuracy and governance initiatives.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop the Operations & Technology team, providing mentorship, clear direction, and performance management.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including reporting and cost control.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and results-driven environment focused on achieving shared business goals.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Play a key role within the senior leadership team, actively contributing to business strategy and decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with service line and functional leaders across the organisation.
  • Support teams in effectively utilising operational systems and technologies to maximise efficiency and compliance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the executive board on all matters relating to operations and technology.

Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years' proven experience in a leadership role overseeing operations and technology within the accountancy or professional services industry.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, compliance frameworks, and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing technology solutions that improve performance and deliver business transformation.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience) + bonus package, * Competitive salary of up to £60,000 (depending on experience)
