Job description

MCS Group is looking for a hands-on Network and Systems Manager for a 3 month fixed term contract! You will take on a hands-on technical management position on a cross functional team, working to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical IT systems. This is a key role, involving overseeing IT Support, infrastructure, and cybersecurity operations while helping to drive forward strategic technology initiatives, The Network and Systems Manager will:

  • Work across the NOC and the Service Desk, assisting the client with an InTune implementation, setting up their WiFI, and upgrading their firewall infrastructure.
  • Oversee the design, stability, and performance of the IT infrastructure - including servers, networks, cloud, and on-premise environments.
  • Drive robust security management, maintaining compliance with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and GDPR.
  • You will work with a Security focus, ensuring systems and the network are correctly and securely rolled out.
  • This role is ideal for a solid, hands-on technical systems/network manager. You will additionally create a plan to mitigate network risk and to secure the network.
  • The client work with Microsoft products across the business, so you should be confident working with the MS stack.

Requirements

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in IT Service Desk Management, Infrastructure Operations, and Cybersecurity.
  • 5+ years' experience leading and developing high-performing IT teams.
  • Solid experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and ITIL-based processes.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials) and data protection (GDPR).

Benefits & conditions

Salary: £60k - £70k per annum (pro rata) Location: On-site in Ballymena. Contract: 3-month fixed term. Hours: 8.15am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am - 1pm Friday. This post also requires some flexibility for maintenance or critical incident response.
