Job description

This client is hiring now for summer/autumn 2026 starts.

Working as a graduate hardware engineer for this company you will be involved in very hands-on, cutting edge projects for their clients.

Your work will be varied and could include designing PCBs or implementing processing solutions in FPGAs. Designs vary from low-power microcontroller designs to high-rate network processing solutions incorporating multiple FPGAs and CPUs.

Due to the nature of the work the client requires you to be in their offices 5 days a week and doesn't offer hybrid/flexible working. You need to be able to be eligible for UK Govt DV clearance.

Requirements

  • You will have a strong academic background, ideally at master's or PhD level, although bachelors candidates will also be considered (or equivalent)
  • An interest in FPGA development in VHDL, PCB design and layout or embedded software development in C/C++
  • You will need to have A grades in maths and physics (or other relevant subjects) at A-Level (or equivalent)
  • You must meet the criteria for UK GOVT security clearance to be considered for these roles

About the company

Based in Surrey our client is a privately owned technical consultancy specialising in the national security and defence sectors.
