Job description
We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation . Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role can be based in any of our UK offices (London, Sleaford or Birmingham). Enterprise Architect - AI Development Tools Adoption Overview We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to define the architecture, governance, and integration strategy for adopting AI development tools across our product development organization. This role will ensure AI tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other emerging platforms are implemented securely, responsibly, and at scale, while aligning with enterprise standards and long-term technology strategy. The Enterprise Architect will provide the technical blueprint for how these tools fit into our development ecosystem, complementing the Program Manager's focus on rollout and adoption. Responsibilities
- Establish the enterprise architecture vision and standards for AI-powered development tools.
- Define integration approaches for AI tools with existing platforms such as GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Jira, and IDEs.
- Partner with security, compliance, and legal teams to ensure responsible AI use, addressing data privacy, IP protection, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop governance frameworks, including usage policies, approval processes, and monitoring standards for enterprise-wide adoption.
- Create reference architectures and best-practice workflows that guide teams in embedding AI tools into daily development activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and infrastructure leaders to ensure scalability, security, and consistency of AI tool usage.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging AI development tools, assessing their alignment with enterprise strategy and technical standards.
- Define and track key technical metrics (e.g., integration success, performance impact, compliance adherence) to measure effectiveness of adoption.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, software engineering, or related technical leadership roles.
- Deep understanding of software development practices, cloud platforms, and modern DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.
- Proven experience integrating third-party tools into enterprise development environments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.) and emerging AI productivity platforms.
- Strong knowledge of security, compliance, and governance requirements related to AI usage.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.
Value to the Business if Role is Removed Without this role, AI development tool adoption would lack architectural consistency, governance, and integration with enterprise systems. Teams would risk fragmented implementations, security gaps, and compliance issues. AI tools could become siloed experiments rather than enterprise-wide accelerators, resulting in inefficiencies, duplication of effort, and potential exposure to legal or data risks. The absence of architectural oversight would limit scalability, diminish ROI on AI investments, and jeopardize the company's ability to standardize best practices across the global development organization. We're obsessed with making this the best job you've ever had!
