Job description
- Design and implement embedded software for ECUs, sensors, and control systems across the product lifecycle.
- Interface with hardware using motorsport protocols (e.g., CAN, XCP, Ethernet).
- Optimize code for low-latency, high-reliability performance in race environments.
- Provide support to the development and trackside operations teams with diagnostics, calibration, and live data analysis. Occasional trackside support may be required.
- Conduct lab-based testing and support vehicle-level validation and fault analysis.
- Collaborate with other engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Simulink?, * First-class or upper-second degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
- Strong C or C++ programming skills for microprocessors and microcontrollers.
- Experience with RTOS development (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks, embedded Linux).
- Familiarity with communication interfaces: CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART, USB.
- Exposure to full lifecycle software development using agile or V-model methodologies.
- Ability to present technical work clearly and contribute to design reviews.
- Proficient with issue tracking and task management tools (e.g. JIRA).
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in motorsport or high-performance automotive environments.
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Perl) and build automation.
- Application development experience in Windows or Linux.
- Familiarity with hardware schematics and datasheets.
- Exposure to MATLAB Simulink or FPGA development.
- Willingness to learn and implement new technical solutions.
- Understanding of F1-specific systems (e.g., chassis control, power unit integration).
