Job description
As a Configuration Manager, you'll be at the heart of one of the UK's most exciting defence programmes supporting the Patria 6×6 armoured personnel carrier vehicle initiative. This NATO-backed platform is set to transform the British Army's capabilities, and you'll play a key role in ensuring its successful delivery.

Day-to-day you'll be:
- Leading the establishment and maintenance of configuration baselines across programmes
- Managing engineering change control processes including Change Requests, Notices, and Control Boards
- Collaborating with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure consistent CM practices
- Maintaining accurate configuration records and ensuring traceability of requirements and design changes
- Driving continuous improvement in configuration management processes and tools
The role is based onsite at Bristol Business Park, Stoke Gifford or Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. The set working times are 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Requirements
- Significant experience in configuration management within defence, aerospace, or automotive sectors
- Proficiency with CM tools such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
- Experience in lifecycle management and engineering change control
Qualifications for the Configuration Manager:
- Degree in engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline
- Strong understanding of CM principles and standards (e.g., ISO 10007, DEF STAN 05-57)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
