Job description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a technically inclined individual eager to contribute to system maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation. The successful candidate will work on critical systems, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability, with opportunities to grow and develop expertise in advanced technologies. As a Systems Engineer in Leidos you will be working on one of our key programs delivering support on a complex and ever changing MOD system.You will be working on a system that is directly involved in ensuring the National Security of the UK, + IP Configuration : Configure and manage IP-based networks and systems to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.

Equipment Fault Finding : Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

Stores Processing : Manage inventory, equipment tracking, and logistics related to system components, ensuring accurate documentation and availability of resources.

Manufacture : implement Build processes, configurations management and quality control.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, testing, and deployment.

Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to maintain clear and accurate records.

Assist in routine system maintenance, upgrades, and performance monitoring.

Adhere to safety protocols and organisational standards during all technical operations.
Requirements

Experience\ Qualifications in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Hands-on experience with IP configuration (e.g., setting up and troubleshooting network protocols, IP addressing, and routing).

Proven ability in equipment fault finding , including diagnosing issues in hardware or software systems.

Experience with stores processing , such as inventory management or equipment tracking.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills to document and convey technical information clearly.
Desirable Experience

Familiarity with Personal Role Radios (PRRs) and their configuration or maintenance.

Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) systems, including setup, testing, or troubleshooting.

Exposure to ATAK (Android Tactical Assault Kit) integration or similar tactical communication systems.
Preferred Skills

Basic understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).

Familiarity with diagnostic tools for hardware and software troubleshooting.

Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.

Experience with technical documentation and reporting.
Location: This role will be based in Herefordshire, with very occasional travel to other sites.
