Job description

You'll work across CDIO B&T, wider CDIO teams, and external delivery partners to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of digital products. This includes managing stakeholder relationships, leveraging supplier frameworks, and adapting delivery methodologies to suit project needs.

You'll define delivery roadmaps, manage risks and dependencies, and align delivery backlogs with strategic priorities. Drawing on your technical expertise and experience with third-party management, you'll champion continuous improvement and delivery excellence., * Lead end-to-end delivery of large and/or complex IT projects.

  • Develop and manage delivery plans, reporting progress and outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Oversee financial forecasting and budget tracking.
  • Manage commercials across internal teams and external partners.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across business and technology.
  • Communicate delivery progress and benefits to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Apply Agile and Waterfall methodologies effectively.
  • Build and lead high-performing internal and external teams.
  • Line manage IT Delivery Managers and support team development.
  • Manage team resourcing and capacity planning.
  • Actively contribute to the Delivery Manager community.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Waterfall?, * Delivering large, complex, technical or IT-enabled change delivery against a backdrop of large-scale organisational change

  • Working as a member of a large / major complex delivery team.
  • Project Governance including creating and managing a delivery plan and tracking risks / issues / dependencies.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex IT-enabled change.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex governance frameworks and manage risk and cost.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard project management tools and techniques.
  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
  • Leadership and line management of delivery professionals.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement across large organisations.
  • Supplier management focused on quality outcomes and value for money.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate change clearly across teams., Customer facing roles in HMRC require the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English and/or Welsh where required. Where this is an essential requirement, this will be tested as part of the selection process., Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check.
