Job description

Reporting to the VP, IT, the Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining our network infrastructure, including but not limited to Citrix NetScaler, Cisco UCS, SAN, network switching and routing, VMware, and network firewalls. You will also be expected to have strong expertise in AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

In addition, this position will work closely with cross-functional team members to support and maintain Cendyn' s products, including high level systems troubleshooting and support.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure components such as Citrix NetScaler, Cisco UCS, SAN, network switching and routing devices, VMware, and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Perform network security assessments and implement necessary measures to protect against potential threats.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify areas for improvement or optimization.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends related to network engineering.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network and security emergencies as needed.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Senior level experience in network engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with Load Balancers, Cisco UCS, SAN, network switching and routing, VMware and network firewalls
  • Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Expert understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols and technologies.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Competencies:

  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server OS's.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes., While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, systems and supplies, up to 30 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and subject to changes by Manager's communication and may have to accommodate client schedules in different international time zones.
