Job description
You'd be joining as our final core engineering hire for launch. This isn't about maintaining legacy systems or implementing someone else's specifications. This is about owning entire features from database to UI, shipping AI that feels invisible and intuitive, and directly shaping how legal professionals work with compliance technology.
What we expect you to be proficient in:
- NodeJS (Express, NestJS or AdonisJS)
- Next.js
- TypeScript/JavaScript
- Tailwind
- Python
What You'll Actually Do
Own full vertical slices - from API architecture management for existing product to new functionality, you'll build complete features that thousands of lawyers will use daily. No handoffs, no "that's not my department."
Ship AI that doesn't feel like AI - Integrate LLMs seamlessly into workflows where they solve actual problems, not create new ones. Think smart document analysis, contextual risk allocation, and compliance coaching that feels conversational, not robotic.
Build for professionals who don't have time for broken software - Our users are busy solicitors dealing with AML compliance. Your code needs to work, be fast, and make their jobs easier, not harder.
Collaborate directly with founders - You'll be working closely with experienced legal professionals who understand the domain deeply. No layers of product managers translating requirements.
Requirements
Do you have experience in TypeScript?, Essential:
· 3+ years full-stack development in production B2B SaaS environments
· Hands-on experience integrating LLMs/AI into user-facing features (not just calling OpenAI APIs)
· Comfortable with modern AI development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.)
· Experience with cloud infrastructure and scalable data processing
· Track record of shipping features end-to-end in startup or scale-up environments
Highly Valued:
· RAG pipeline experience or vector database work
· Experience in regulated industries (FinTech, HealthTech, LegalTech)
· Background with agentic AI frameworks or multi-model orchestration
· Understanding of compliance workflows or risk assessment processes
Benefits & conditions
This isn't just another developer position. You're joining at the inflection point where we transition from startup to scale-up. The systems you build will serve thousands of legal professionals and potentially reshape how an entire industry approaches compliance.
Plus, you'll be working with founders who've been senior partners and department heads - they know what actually works in legal practice, not what sounds good in theory.
What We Offer
· Flexible working (we care about output, not seat time)
· Direct influence on product direction and technical decisions
· Work with cutting-edge AI technology in a domain that desperately needs it
Ready to Build Something That Matters?
We're looking for someone who gets excited about solving hard problems with elegant solutions, not someone looking for a safe corporate role.
