Design Engineer

• Design, develop and implement mechanical solutions for production process equipment.
• Provide ongoing support for existing production machinery to ensure optimum performance through maintenance, fault diagnosis, modifications and part redesigns.
• Understand and apply sound mechanical principles to problem-solving and design challenges.
• Arrange and lead, where required, regular design review meetings.
• Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to support project and production requirements.
• Order materials as required, liaising directly with suppliers or through the purchasing department.
• Produce detailed design specifications and engineering drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks.

Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, A strong mechanical background is essential, together with hands-on experience and proven involvement with production process equipment and machinery., * Strong mechanical engineering background.

• Early career experience or apprenticeship in general or precision machining, or a similar role within a mechanical maintenance environment.
• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
• Experience supporting and improving production equipment performance.
• Competent in CAD design packages (AutoCAD Inventor or SolidWorks).
• Practical, methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
